• What are eligible service areas?​
  • To better service our local communities, scholarship applicants must reside in one of the following Indiana area codes: 46383, 46385, 46347, 46341 and 46302
• What is the maximum amount of assistance I can receive for scholarship?
  • Scholarships can help to cover up to 85% of Membership Dues and up to 50% of Programming or Childcare dues thanks to our generous donors of the Annual Campaign!
     
• What can a scholarship help me toward at the YMCA?
  • Scholarships may be applied toward membership dues, programming fees, or even childcare dues! 
     
• How long does it take to be approved for a scholarship?
  • Due to the high volume of applications we receive and the approval process may take up to 30 days for completion. • What counts as income?
  • Income is any form of financial disbursement that you receive to sustain your household. This can include, but is not limited to:

    • Salary or Wages

    • Child Support

    • Alimony

    • TANF/WIC/SNAP/Food Stamps

    • Unemployment

    • Social Security

    • Retirement/Pension

    • Disability

• What can I submit for income verification?

  • The most preferred method of submission is a year-end tax document, such as a W2

  • In the event that a W2 or similar year-end document is not available, we can accept at least 2 consecutive months of paystubs and/or benefit letters from federal or state based programs

• What if I have no proof of any type of income?

  • Unfortunately, we will not be able to extend a full scholarship without some proof of financial status to use to determine eligibility. Depending on circumstances, we may be able to issue a short-term, temporary scholarship for less than 90 days until proper documentation can be acquired. Please email fa@valpoymca.org if you need assistance with this type of extenuating circumstance.
